Bulletproof Backpacks to Debut at Schools

Now I’ve seen it all… while its true that you can make easy money with stupid people but even this is pretty strange. It stops “97% of bullets used in all school shootings since 1900″…
“My Child’s Pack” deflects both bullets and knife attacks, and was designed to meet the standards set by the National Institute for Justice. The backpack provides protection from behind, but can also be used as a shield in the event of an attack. Research conducted during the testing of the pack has shown that it could stop 97 percent of bullets used in all school shootings since 1900

I guess it’s a”glass half full” thing. I bought my daughter an iPod to take to college this coming fall. It costs more than one of these backpacks. She didn’t like any of the colors so I got to take the cheap road out and bought one of the panels to put in the pack she really loves. I would rather add even a 10% greater chance of survival to my daughter’s life. 97% of the bullets stopped by a shield that weighs less than a bottle of water, that she will have with her about 50% of the time is a lot better than nothing.
Last fall she got early acceptance to NIU, before anything had happened there.
